Day 38: Up close with Australian wildlife

Cassowaries! Kangaroos! And Koalas!

Unbelievable but true, we finally saw real cassowaries. Very majestic and impressive animals, whose existence we didn't even know about before the trip. Now we understand why we should be careful when driving in case a cassowary crosses the road. And here at the sanctuary, you can admire these animals up close and feed them grapes 🙋

I was also able to feed kangaroos and turtles, and hold a koala ❤. There were also wombats, a blue-tongued lizard, snakes, and a small crocodile. There was a very impressive feeding of the saltwater crocodiles (Saltys). Luckily, the fences are strong and high. I don't want to encounter these animals in the wild. At least now we know how to react.
