Wonderland - Koh Phangan

"Your ferry at 9:30 am was cancelled, but you can take the one at 7 am or 4:30 pm." Email from Raja Ferry.

Hmm, unfortunate but can't be changed. I talk to Mama Latte, who will arrange a taxi for me at 5:30 am in the morning. Now I say goodbye to Mama and Karin. They are going home today.

Arriving at the ferry port, their son gets off the ferry and wants to help with translation if necessary.

Everything goes smoothly until the cashier gives me a ticket for 9:30 am. I object and say that my email states that the 9:30 am ferry was cancelled and I should take the one at 7 am. After a while, it turns out that this email refers to the timetable in a month. Unfortunately, it's not explicitly mentioned anywhere. No matter how we read it - from right to left, left to right, top to bottom, or bottom to top - it doesn't mention anything about the next month. I'm frustrated and happy to be able to sit here at the ferry port for 3 hours😩 but the pier is clean, big, there's a lot going on and there are many dogs, of course.

The crossing takes about 1.5 hours, then I arrive at Koh Phangan.

I'm excited, I get a tour of the facility, take a shower, and then I'm ready for my first class with Tamara. I think she's Russian, the class is called Flexibility and Mobility - let's just say that by the end of the class, I can touch my toe to my nose. Towards the end, we do partner stretches, Natascha - we introduce ourselves briefly before getting so close - and we stretch each other to the max. Sweat is dripping.

Food, I need to eat.

The mostly vegan buffet blows me away, I ask two German-speaking girls if I can join them: they are Susi and Paula.

Susi is just a bystander; her resort is somewhere else, but since she wants to see Paula again before she leaves, they spend the evening together. We talk about everything, the two of them met on the ferry here and have already experienced a lot together. Meanwhile, we enjoy sushi and seaweed salad before going to bed - my first yoga class is at 7 am.
