And hello Koh Tao-
Spontaneously heading to Koh Tao... the snorkeling and deep-sea diving paradise.
I can already spoil the surprise - I won't be doing either ЁЯШМ, I'm not crazy.
Just for your information - Koh Samui is small, Koh Phangan is half the size of Samui, and Koh Tao is even smaller than Koh Phangan.
On Koh Tao, there is an amazing view at the John Suwan viewpoint. Climbing, literally - and with sandals - is a must, but there is always a rope to pull yourself up.
The view compensates for the fact that I'm sweating like an animal - it really is an amazing view! The cooling off at the small, beautiful beach is also amazing... I have to say, I like Koh Tao.
Chris, who has been living there for a few months now, even though he's American, makes a great effort to show me the most beautiful spots on KT. Sometimes, of course - as often happens in Southeast Asia - it's challenging to get there - see the viewpoint - but it's always worth it.
Even if "worth it" ends in an accident. The next day at the beach is really impressive - so beautiful that none of us have time to eat or drink. So we start heading back from the beach - the ride is long for Koh Tao standards. And then we see it coming... the sand - flashback: I see Nico's wounds from Canada in front of me and know that we are going to have an accident. And so it happens...
No problem, I stand up, worried about his foot that is still under the scooter. But he's fine!
Then I realize that I'm getting dizzy. By now, a car - a pick-up truck with several Thais - has stopped. "Everything is fine, everything is fine."
And then?! Yes, then I think I'm dreaming - I have no idea about what, but it's beautiful. And I feel so warm! That's nice. Suddenly I wake up and see many people in front of me and around me. "Oh, I had such a great dream," I blur out. I'll spare you the question of whether I wet myself, although it's warm down there.
I throw up twice, Chris forces me to drink water (disgusting, because he put coconut pieces in it beforehand). I know that I'm not able to drive the scooter, I also ask him not to do it. A Thai takes his scooter and follows the pick-up truck. I need to drink something, need sugar, and wish that the ride will be over soon. We are dropped off at the clinic, my wounds are treated first.
I feel better, get up after the treatment, and am told to sit down at the doctor's. I do so, and realize that I'm about to faint again. Quickly, I'm put on the other bed.
Next attempt - after Chris has been treated, we want to leave the clinic. Just as we leave the clinic, I feel like I'm about to fall again and quickly lay down on the floor. He drags me back inside. And goes to get pizza. That girl needs to eat.
Armed with 2 large pizzas, we fight against my circulation. I eat non-stop! That helps, and I am able to hobble home!
I'm annoyed - I can't do many of the things you can do here and the others do - like yoga, climbing park... But for now, I just want to get healthy or at least healthier.
The next scooter ride makes me nervous, but I'm getting more and more relaxed - otherwise you won't get anywhere here. Even bathing in the sea does me good - who would have thought. And the hunger comes back - Pad Thai, garlic bread, soup, smoothie... "uh, yes, all for me" ЁЯЩВ.
But the spots are taken care of daily and sometimes hurt more, sometimes less. And I'm not alone - bandages, crutches, etc. are almost fashionable here. And I'm being well taken care of.
The journey back is coming up, at least for me. We are going to Koh Samui, then to Bangkok, then it's to Germany...
So let's go... off to the speedboat to Samui, where I found a wonderful bungalow (http://www.booking.com/Share-MIMOCF) right on the beach where I had a yoga class with a view at the beginning of the trip. Yoga is still out, but the beach! This beach and the food at the FitKoh Cafe (https://fitkoh.com/cafe) тЩея╕ПЁЯЩВ incredible!
At the airport, I discover a great ring - and can't pay for it because my wallet and therefore my credit card are not there. Hmmm, strange. I leave the store and search through everything again. No wallet. I ask around - after calling my previous accommodation and asking - and am sent from A to B to C. At the gate, they send me all the way back, saying that I can see my backpack there, it hasn't been loaded onto the plane yet.
I walk back again, in the meantime my backpack has now been loaded! Ah!!
I try to remember and at no point do I see myself putting the wallet in the backpack. I'm going crazy.
Now I walk back to Gate 1, the man tells me to get on the small buses first so that I can be at the plane early and they can take my bag out again and I can look for my wallet. I'm the first one called and receive the bag at the plane. I rummage and rummage, and at the very bottom, my wallet looks at me - I'm so relieved and can't thank the staff enough.
The person from the bungalow KAA already thought of ways how I can get money (who she knows in BKK) and Chris also googled in the meantime - a bit exaggerated - how it's possible to get from KT to Bangkok quickly/safely with money in hand ЁЯШМ
Instead of spending the last few minutes in panic, I would have preferred to admire and enjoy this beautiful airport - which is not a building, but where everything is outside. But well, it wasn't meant to be!
