Halftime

प्रकाशित: 04.12.2023

It's mid-November, the sun is shining at 28 degrees and we've already been in Vanuatu for 2 1/2 months. Time passed slowly at first, then suddenly quite quickly and now we are practically preparing for our departure.

The next few weeks will look a little different here. Michel flew to the Solomon Islands today (November 21st, 2023). The Pacific Games take place there. He will now be there with his teams for 2 weeks. The beach volleyball games begin on November 28th, 2023 and training will take place on site beforehand. Since everything there was fully booked, the three of us stayed here and now the three of us have a week before Grandfather Sebastian on November 29th. come to visit us for 3 weeks. Pepe has been looking forward to him for a long time and the days are numbered :)

Since the last week was quite hard as Anton is teething, we hope that this phase is over until Michel is back. Otherwise, we have already arranged to meet for the next few days and our nanny Lowra is also coming an extra day, so I am very confident that I won't be completely exhausted.

We've spent the last few weeks relaxing and getting back into everyday life. Pepe went to beach volleyball every morning. Since Pepe still doesn't want to go to kindergarten, we spent a lot of time on the playground in the city or at home by the pool and in the garden.

Highlights were an afternoon for Pepe at the skate park, a Sunday at the Holiday Inn Resort with tennis and kayaking, an Indian dance evening for me :) and pretty much every soccer training session.

Two very committed French surfers built a skating hall here 2-3 years ago to train themselves in the perfect basics for surfing. It actually looks like a lot of fun and Pepe was completely thrilled on his first visit. Since the children are there without parents, Pepe needed a while before he dared to go there again. But now he is fully involved and takes part in everything that is shown to him.

We went to the Holiday Inn a little more often back then because a good friend Charlotte worked and lived there. This time it hadn't happened yet and last weekend it suited us very well. We set off around 9am. Coincidentally, there was also a big birthday party with 30 children, which was fun for Pepe but we also knew many of the parents. Port Vila is simply a village. We played tennis there, spent a lot of time in the pool, ate delicious pizza and fries and rented a kayak. At around 4 p.m. we were back home, sunbathed and extremely exhausted.

The Indian evening was a birthday of a friend who invited a large group to a very popular Indian restaurant. I didn't miss this opportunity to go out again and said yes. My friend Vicki was there too and, like at the Holiday Inn, you knew a lot of the other guests by sight. The food was incredibly delicious and I took the opportunity to be on the dance floor until my hormones told me to go home.

This article was supposed to be uploaded two weeks ago. So that the gap doesn't get too big and the next article doesn't get too long, it's coming now and in a few days we'll report on Michel's time on the Solomon Islands and our time in Vanuatu.

Lukim yu and enjoy Winter Wonderland ♥️
