Today we made our way to Manuel Antonio, which is about 280 km away. Our navigation system said it would take about 6 hours. Due to traffic and our familiar field paths, it took us 6.5 hours to get there.
What was strange was that we didn't see a single car for the first hour ... it was bumpy on these field paths.
According to the navigation system, our route led us over a highway that was sometimes restricted to 25 km and pedestrians and cyclists were also curving there ???
On the way, we passed the bridge at the Rio Tarcoles, where there are countless crocodiles 360 days a year. With our luck - none today ... but we still have a chance on Wednesday, as we will have to go that way again ...
Now we have reached the southernmost point of our journey.
A very nice hotel, the Plaza Yara ... we have a small suite and sat on the terrace, which is directly adjacent to a small forest.
What was eerie ... because suddenly there was deafening noise here ... the forest is home to a howler monkey clan ... they are so cute, but they live up to their name. An adult howler monkey is about the size of a cat. But they had so many little ones with them ... it's a shame that taking photos is so difficult without a decent zoom.
Today they showed us what climbing means.
Now a meal at the Rico Tico Jungle Grill ... it was delicious!
