Today we were able to get physically active again. We had a small trek in Tsingy National Park on the agenda. Tsingy National Park is known for its limestone rock formations. There are only two places in the world where such formations exist, once here in Madagascar and the second time in China.
To warm up and escape the large tourist flow, we first visited the small Tsingy. The rock formations were very impressive.
We climbed along the sharp edges through the formations and squeezed through narrow passages at the base of the rocks. Just my cup of tea.
It got even more exciting at the big Tsingy, which we reached after an hour's drive. To reach the rock formations, we first had to walk through a small forest. In this forest, we encountered a lemur and a spring hare.
Climbing on the rock formations was great fun and the view was breathtaking. We went through small caves up to a lookout platform.
The whole climbing adventure ended with a highlight, a suspension bridge.
After crossing the airy abyss, we slowly made our way back. During the whole climbing and the midday heat, we worked up quite a sweat, so it was a relief when we were back in the slightly cooler forest.
From here we went back to the hotel where regeneration was on the agenda.
