Ali has the weekend off and accompanies me on part of my journey. I actually wanted to go to Piran, but it seems that the accommodations there are fully booked at the moment. Our overnight destination is therefore Umag. However, we have a 4-hour layover in Piran to explore the beautiful harbor city by the sea. The sun is shining, it's hot, and there's a pleasant breeze. It's quite a contrast compared to the previous day when I was at the mountain lakes in Slovenia.
After another bus ride across the border, we arrive in Umag, Croatia at 7 pm. The sun is just setting as we walk to the Airbnb, I guess we'll be able to watch it by the sea tomorrow. :-)
In the evening, there's street food in the town, grilled corn and crepe with Nutella and raspberries. :) Umag seems to be a very popular place for German tourists, you get addressed in German on every corner.
