On Sunday afternoon, Magnus spontaneously packed us into the car and took us for a drive in fantastic weather. We were following the footsteps of Agnes Magnusdottir. She is the woman who was executed here in Iceland as the last person. Magnus told us a lot about her story. The story has also been written as a novel - "The Sealing House" by Hannah Kent. It is said that a film adaptation is also planned. The memorial stone shown in the photo is actually the place where Agnes was executed in 1830, and all the residents from the nearby and even farther away had to witness this execution. It was quite creepy. Magnus once again surprised me when he told me that this book is on his winter reading list. In the summer, there is little to no time for reading here, but plenty of time in the winter. Afterwards, we went together to eat pizza and it was delicious. Considering we were neither in Italy nor Germany, the pizza was exceptionally Italian. It was totally worth it. And Cassandra and I were also invited :-)… Since last night, Magnus' children are no longer here to visit, so he has more time to take care of the horses and the farm. I'm curious about what the week will bring. This morning, I did something for my fitness. A family from India wanted to go horseback riding, but they had never ridden before and there were smaller children with them. The father led one horse, Cassandra and I each led another one. Everything was fine until we reached a spot where the grass was so high. It rained a lot last night. When we returned after an hour, we had very happy Indians and wet knees. Only the father doesn't normally do sports and after the tour, he was not only equipped with wet knees and feet, but also completely exhausted. :-)
