All night it rained and in the morning the weather seemed not to want to change. We decided against the initial plan of spending two nights in San Sebastian and continued driving. We followed the coast with the first destination being Zumaia, from where it is easy to hike or stroll to the Flysch cliffs. A great view that these rock formations offer. On the way back, we strolled through the narrow streets of the town, the bars were crowded, everywhere there were delicious pintxos with corresponding drinks on the tables. With a heavy heart, we passed by, because our trip continued to Mutriku, a small town on the coast.
We found a parking space in a residential street with a fantastic view over the bay. There were already two other newer campers on the street, so it seemed relatively safe to us to stay there. In general, we notice that there are significantly older and simpler camper models here, which does not make free-standing for us any easier.
We walked into the village and tried the pintxos and local drinks in the village bar. Everything tasted very good, so we had another round until we reached the end of tasting. In the meantime, a traditional event must have taken place in the village, which we unfortunately missed due to our intense culinary journey. However, some locals in traditional dress still populated the village, sang, played music and danced, wonderful. Of course, we didn't miss that.
Even the most beautiful afternoon comes to an end, for us in the form of the uphill walk back. We enjoyed dinner with sunset and fell asleep to the sound of the sea, simply fantastic.
