This time I had better weather luck for the second train ride on the west coast from Matsue to Tsuwano to Fukuoka.

Tsuwano is a village with a 700-year history and is largely under monument protection. Many residents still make a living from traditional crafts such as paper making.

The whole village has moats full of Koi. They used to be kept as emergency supplies.
Here too there is a shrine with 1'000 red torii: the Taikodani-Inari Shrine.

For dinner I went to a cozy restaurant run by two women.
