Day 12 - Desert Safari

Today we spontaneously decided to go on a half-day desert safari.

In the afternoon, we were picked up from the hotel by a jeep. We were joined by a couple from Canada and a woman from the USA who is on a business trip.

Then we went into the desert. Not for the faint-hearted: full speed across the dunes. We drove off-road through the sand until the SUV almost tipped over. 🙈😱 Right through the desert. After several short stops to take photos of the landscape and camels, we arrived at a desert camp.

There, we could try and enjoy everything Abu Dhabi has to offer. We rode camels, wore traditional clothing, got up close to a falcon again, and the ladies got henna tattoos.

In the traditional way, we had dinner and sat on cushions at a small table like the Bedouins. Afterwards, you could enjoy a shisha pipe.

To finish off, a belly dancer entertained the visitors and taught those who were willing how to sway their hips.
