Sydney Arrival

The Rocks are the oldest neighborhood in Sydney: Shortly after the arrival of the first Europeans in the bay, houses made of sandstone were built here. The area got its name from the sandstone used. The historic district is located just a few minutes' walk from Circular Quay. The popular neighborhood is full of nightlife and entertainment with restaurants, bars & pubs.

In the heart of the historic neighborhood of The Rocks is our hotel The Russell, which offers an incomparable location to Sydney's attractions. In a short time (actually just crossing the street), our path led us to the harbor, the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, and the Harbour Bridge. Unimaginable to be on the other side of the earth. And here the sun sets on the other (western) side. Tonight (summer time) the clocks will be set forward by one hour.

Here are our first impressions. We are still amazed and it will definitely happen more often. 😎
