Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Hello,
in Ho Chi Minh, we first walked into the city where we were convinced by a noodle dish and a baguette from Vietnamese cuisine. Then we went to the backpacker district and an underground shopping center. We ended the evening with a foot massage. The next day, we needed a luggage carrier box for Camilla. So we went to the workshop district where we finally decided on a toolbox after a long discussion, which now had to be installed in a suitable way. With pipe clamps, we managed to secure the box in the midday sun at a temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius. After a refreshing shower, we treated ourselves to a kebab and then went to a bar to play billiards. Late in the evening, we drove to a famous roundabout where many small street food stands were set up around a water park. Our menu ranged from Vietnamese pizza to flambéed quail eggs to grilled sausages. For the last day in Ho Chi Minh, some sightseeing was planned. After a strong iced coffee, we set off for a huge two-story market with hundreds of stalls. Everything was sold there, from dried fruits and shrimps to branded clothes. For lunch, we went to a brand new shopping mall where we cooled down a bit from the heat. The next stop was a small replica of the Notre Dame Cathedral. For sunset, we went to the Bitexo Financial Tower to visit the city from above on the Skydeck. In addition, we took a tour of the Heineken Museum on the 60th floor. After a bit of history, we were allowed to tap and drink our own beer. As a farewell gift, we received a bottle with our names on it. We then went to the nearby market, but it was rather touristy and we quickly moved on. A Malaysian dinner marked the end of this eventful day. Early in the morning, we packed our things and set off for the first 150 km to the coast. In the early evening, we arrived in La Gi and settled into our centrally located room. We had dinner from the grill and an oil change for Camilla. Today we set off for the destination Mui Ne, which is 80 km away. However, things are not going well after the first kilometers. Firstly, Julia's luggage came loose and we dragged it behind us. Now we are in a workshop where Camilla's drive gear has broken. In the process, we also have the shock absorbers and the chain replaced. We are curious to see how much all of this will cost and will report back soon.
Until then,
Malia
