Day 6 Grand Canyon

This morning we had to contact El Monte to get our RV back on the road. A hydraulic hose had come loose. That's why we couldn't level our camper either. There was an oil puddle under the motorhome.

When we were able to retract the supports, we set off on Route 66 towards Williams and then on to the Grand Canyon.

Just before the Grand Canyon, we saw an airport. Helicopters were taking off and landing from there, which piqued our curiosity. We spontaneously booked a one-hour flight over the canyon. A unique experience. After takeoff, we first flew over the forests of Kaibab National Forest. Then we flew out over the edge of the canyon. A breathtaking moment. We flew in a wide arc to the North Rim and then back across the gorge.

After buying a few souvenirs, we continued to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. There we took many pictures. After about two hours, we headed back to Flagstaff. There we ate something in a saloon. The waiters and waitresses are all aspiring singers. They performed pieces from old musicals.

Back at the campground, we had to dispose of our wastewater for the first time and refill the freshwater tank.
