From Lisbjerg to Kaerby

Saturday, July 4th, 2020

I am expecting a morning with light drizzle. According to the weather report, it will rain all day today😣 What should I do? It doesn't make sense to stay here, so I pack my things and head towards Hadsten. It's 18 km to get there. From a distance, I see a big Burger King sign. Great, I'll recharge my batteries there and then go to the shopping center. I urgently need a second rain jacket, otherwise I won't be able to endure this rain. By now, the rain has set in and there is no end in sight🙈

Equipped with two rain jackets and rain pants, I continue my journey towards Frederikshavn. It's raining non-stop. I've had enough in Randers. Soaking wet😫 This is no longer fun. The next place with a shelter is 5 km away. At least there, I'll be dry. 

The place is located near the small village of Kaerby. It seems that there is a celebration going on. A gentleman kindly informs me that I can use everything here, except for the big cabin where people are partying. Of course... as long as I can use a small cabin. 

Not even 10 minutes later, as I'm just about to settle in, a friendly lady comes by and invites me for coffee and cake. Well, that's an offer! And I should bring my wet things with me. They have an oven where I can dry them. It will be a very nice evening in the midst of this family celebration. Everyone is very kind and friendly. Tonight, once again, I go to sleep overwhelmed with happiness.
