Hello again,
Civilization has brought us back after a great hike through Abel Tasman National Park. But let's start from the beginning... after the Bay of Islands, we headed south and stopped at some great places like Lake Taupo or the Te Puia geysers, which were quite impressive and at the same time extremely pungent. Then we took the ferry to the South Island where we met a hitchhiker who gave us some tips and gave us a ride to the next town! Very cool guy.
Arriving on the South Island, we realized that it is even more expensive here than on the North Island and we had our first encounter with the notorious sandflies, which swirl around and like to sting. Here, too, we met a group of people who also gave us a lot of tips. Super cool guys and girls who have just finished high school and are already very curious (I wasn't like that at that age).
Afterwards, we went kayaking in Abel Tasman National Park, which is really worth seeing! Here we could observe not only beautiful beaches but also amazing animals like seals.
When we arrived in Anchorage, we spent a night there and hiked back the tour early this morning. Quite exhausting but wonderful nature pure!
So see you soon at McDonald's ;)
Next stop will be: Pancake Rocks (they are said to resemble stacked pancakes)
