Our last city of the silk road: Bukhara

प्रकाशित: 21.05.2022

Guys, I'm hungover so this one will be less detailed than usual.

We hitchhiked to Bukhara, the last city of the silk road that we plan to visit. It took longer than expected, the road was really bad and we got some slow rides so we arrived at night. On the way to the hostel (a very beautiful one, I sadly didn't take fotos) we saw already the landmark of the city, the tall minarette of the Kalan Mosque:

During the next day we went to the bazar and went shopping for sweets. We tried almost all they got and settled for this:
Right: Caramelized peanuts

Bottom: Baklava

Left: Also caramelized peanuts but these white things (no clue what it is) make then even better

Top: It's kinda like sweet sushi. It's main ingredient is some almond paste, there are different nuts in there and rounded up with a thin layer of chocolate on the outside. Definitely my favorite!

The bazar itself was in a building with a intriguing tile work:

And one spice seller made funny towers from his spices:
Afterwards we went for sight seeing, here are some impressions but make sure to check out the foto section!
On the next day we went to the capital Taschkent, this time by train. We wanted some comfort. The hostel we stay here is super nice and there are plenty of internationals around!

On the first day we went for a hike to waterfalls, 90 minutes east of the city:

From this perspective (upper picture) the final waterfall is difficult to see but the canyon itself was a sight I liked even better! I guess after Argentina waterfalls have a hard time making an impression on me.
Notice Hanna standing there, this one was pretty big!

The next day we met Mara, a German woman from Berlin. Hanna and me wanted to check out a techno bar and Mara joined. Turns out it's a proper club! And it's been a blast and that's also the reason for my hangover.

Yeah that's it, make sure to check the pictures. Have a great beginning of the Summer ❤️
