Playa del Carmen

The first week has flown by and we have already experienced soooo much and met people from all over the world.

Playa del Carmen welcomes us on our first evening with this amazing sunset.

The first two days we were initially in Cancun and then continued to Playa del Carmen. There we met some Mexicans on the first day with whom we went to non-touristy beaches and cenotes (there are incredibly many cenotes here in Mexico - around 3000 - which can be open, semi-open or closed).

The adventure day we did with the Mexicans was pretty cool and it's just awesome to be out and about with locals and get to know Mexico from its real, non-touristy side.

In addition, we went snorkeling in Akumal with 5 people from France whom we met at the hostel and saw sea turtles :) Totally fascinating and incredibly beautiful to see the animals in their natural habitat.

Of course, we also tried Mexican food right away and tasted quesadillas, burritos and tortillas. Super deliciooous :)

We drove back to Cancun on 07.01., where we were picked up by Mitchel, the owner of the jackfruit farm, with the pickup truck. We will be working on the farm for three to four weeks.
