We are in beautiful Alsace, which we have visited several times before.

Last year it was so warm that the heating system was not used at all, but this year is a bit different because it has been relatively wet here and the temperatures are quite appropriate for the season.

This morning it was only -2 degrees, which means that the lid of the water container was frozen. Therefore, we moved it into the caravan, where we have been testing the gas heating system for a few days now, as the temperature slowly drops.

Our retrofitted Truma is wonderful, we only heat sporadically during the day, but it runs throughout the night. It's cozy in Palumbi, and apparently the dogs like it too!

In terms of hiking, Alsace is wonderful beyond the vineyards, with well-marked hiking trails and paths. With the sunny weather, we did two hikes today!

AND of course, there is another plus, because here you can buy freshly baked baguettes and croissants that are not rubbery, but taste wonderful!
