Hi guys,
we survived our first night in the roof tent. It's not exactly comfortable with the mattress, but there are worse things. Temperature-wise, I was a bit warm, Ann-Estelle a bit too cold, but all in all, it was definitely more pleasant than I expected!😊
We woke up this morning to the sound of birdsong, I can't imagine a nicer alarm clock.
Currently, the sun rises here in Queensland around 5:30 am. With it, the birds and then us with the birds.
So around 6 am, the espresso maker was already on the table because traditionally, the first task of the day is of course a steaming hot coffee.
We enjoyed the morning sunlight and leisurely I took care of breakfast.
The faithful readers of the blog who were already there last year can probably guess what we had.
Of course, we had the legendary fried egg avocado toast!
Just as I remembered, this provided an ideal basis for a good start to the day, and we slowly started the day. After brushing our teeth, washing the dishes, and looking somewhat fresh again, we then dedicated ourselves to the task of folding our roof tent together for the first time, and just like setting it up, it was child's play!😊
We packed up our belongings and soon after that, we headed to "Wellington Point" to visit dear Sonja and her family.
When we arrived at the three of them around 10:30 am, they welcomed us with open arms. With great hospitality, they showed us their really great home and we had a very nice conversation over coffee. They gave us incredible helpful tips for our trip, many suggestions, and answered many many questions. The three even have a pool, which they also invited us to take a swim in. Said and done, and the adorable family dog named Teddy joined us in the water!😍 While swimming, we also saw a pelican for the first time, which was super cool, I mean a pelican right in front of their own veranda? How cool is that?!😍
They even cooked for us, so you could almost say it was an all-inclusive package, for which we are very grateful to the three of them. Apart from having a full stomach, we took a lot of new knowledge with us, which was really great, and then Dave even gave me a really cool hat from the Australian rugby team, the Wallabies. Now I definitely feel like a true Australian!
In the afternoon, we said goodbye to the three of them.
We took another short walk on the beach and then drove back to the campsite!
Halfway there, I saw the first kangaroo from a distance, another milestone!😍
For dinner today, we had pizza from Dominos, which is definitely the cheapest dinner here in Australia! A pizza costs about €3!😳
It's already dark now and we'll go to bed, maybe the birds will let us sleep a little longer tomorrow morning.😊
Greetings from Beenleigh, Australia!🇦🇺
Your Tim!😊
