Visiting my great aunt

Hello there,

Our plan for today was to drive up to my great aunt's place in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. We left our campsite at Dinner Rock early in the morning and made a quick stop at Walmart in Powell River.

Since we had to take a ferry on the way to Gibsons and the next one was only in the afternoon, we decided to climb Valentine Mountain near Powell River. It was a short but steep climb with many steps that took us to the top of the mountain. From there, we had a fantastic view of the sea and the many small islands in front of the mainland.
Just before the ferry in Saltery Bay, we stopped at a picnic area right by the sea. Then we took the ferry to Earls Cove, passing by many small islands. From there, it was only a 2.5-hour drive to my great aunt's place.
We stayed there for two nights. First, we had to shower and do some laundry :-) And there was delicious food. Thank you for that!
On the 1st of May, I accompanied my great aunt on a hike to Keats Island. Once a week, a local hiking group gathers, and my great aunt simply took me along. We took a water taxi from the harbor in Gibsons to Keats Island. It was a fun group, and together we hiked to various viewpoints on the island. In the afternoon, after we returned from the hike, Saskia and I helped my great aunt with some gardening. And then it was time to pack again, as we wanted to head towards the Yukon the next morning.
