Sweden bike tour 6+7: Varberg - Kungsbacka and return home

On Wednesday, Anna's lovesickness worsened, as did the weather. The route wasn't very varied either and the mood in the group became increasingly gloomy. We hardly made any longer breaks, which is why we arrived at our planned shelter shortly before Kungsbacka at 3 in the afternoon.

I was afraid of having a very long, rainy and dull afternoon ahead of me, since Anna had now more or less decided, because of her lovesickness, not to go through the planned follow-up tour in the camper with Nico, her boyfriend and another friend, but to leave Driving home to Gothenburg with Alex and her boyfriend. Ultimately, this meant that Nico and her boyfriend couldn't do the long-awaited tour through the rest of Sweden either, and Nico was therefore very upset and angry.

All in all the atmosphere wasn't good, but then the sun came out. And that had more impact than expected. We became happier, Anna forgot her lovesickness for the moment and we hiked a bit through the woods. We examined mushrooms of all kinds, climbed on stones, enjoyed views and puzzled over an alleged excavation, bathed in the clear, albeit brown lake, stoked a campfire (all by ourselves and thanks to the miracle drug olive oil) and played town-country-river there, cooked again pasta with pesto (our cheering meal for all situations) and talked to a Dutch hiker, who was later with us at the shelter place. It was really nice! Until the lovesickness and Nico's disappointment reappeared in the evening.

In the morning of the next day (Thursday), the mood was worse than ever. Then we found out that Alex and her boyfriend weren't going to drive me and Krissi to the airport after all so that Krissi would get home on time, we should think about something else. Also, the houseboat we had in Gothenburg was overbooked for the night to come and we should cancel it and please look for something new. That was the point where Nico started crying because nothing was going right and Krissi and I decided to cancel the whole tour. Of course it was annoying so close to the end, but we just wouldn't have had any more fun. We were all just pissed off. And so we cycled to Kungsbacka, took the train to Varberg, took the rail replacement service to Falkenberg, then took the train again to Helsingborg, took the ferry to Helsingör and then drove home. We were all home on Friday morning at 5, after a 20-hour exhausting journey home.

Now we are all richer with experiences that we would not have needed:

1. Wheels can be stolen even if they are triple secured.
2. Never rely on booking bookings.
3. Lovesickness does not only affect the affected person.
4. Never make your own vacation plans dependent on others.
