Dominican Republic - My Expectations

Today is my important day - Our important day.

12 volunteers from the German Red Cross dive into the world of Latin America and get to live and support there for a year.

Individually, each of us has a project that appeals to him/her and in which he/she can possibly flourish.

Whether in the social sector, in management, in the medical or in the sports field, everyone can share and develop their abilities with others. For my part: I support the Mama Elba School in Samana and I can also incorporate my own ideas there. I will live in a small shared apartment with my roommate Anna.

Living for a year in another country, another continent, and in a different way of life. Everything will be different than before. Whether better or worse.. Oh, I don't know, but you know what? I'm really looking forward to it.

Quite something. I've been to France almost every year... of course, I've also taken smaller trips elsewhere, but I've never left Europe.
