Arrival

The journey to Japan has been relatively smooth so far. After initial starting difficulties, such as a 1-hour delay on the flight from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt, the rest of the journey went well. Fortunately, I didn't have to go through security again in Frankfurt and could go directly to my gate (which took surprisingly long). Upon arrival, I had to navigate through partially overpriced sandwiches (10 € for a 'normal' sandwich). However, I managed well with 2 pretzels and a bratwurst, which together cost 10 €. The time before the flight passed quickly and after boarding, I entered a huge, clean, and modern airplane. To my delight, even though I was seated in the middle, I only had one seat neighbor and even dinner was served. The dinner was perfect for me - it was sufficient and delicious. Menu B was convincing in every way. Drinks are fortunately free as well. After some initial turbulence, the flight went smoothly. After a nice glass of red wine and two movies (Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Illuminati), 3 hours had already passed. The remainder of the flight was also relaxing. I have to say, I was expecting it to be worse. Despite a change in flight route, we arrived in Tokyo 30 minutes early. Upon landing in Tokyo, I had to check in my luggage again, but that also went smoothly. Fortunately, I didn't have to unpack my entire bag at the security check. The flight to Sapporo was also good, and upon landing, I was able to quickly insert my SIM card into my phone and take the train to Sapporo. It's important to note that you need cash for train travel, so it's best to have some beforehand. Upon arriving at my accommodation around 11 pm, my landlord showed me the apartment and I went to bed relatively quickly because I had to work the next day. :)
