Yesterday, after shabu shabu, I quickly fell into a deep sleep without writing, so I am doing it now during the last ride on the Shinkansen towards Tokyo. We wanted to see so much more in Kanazawa because we liked the city so much. We started again with the castle and walked through the Kenroku-en garden on its grounds. Kenroku-en is one of the 3 perfect gardens in Japan. Of course, it is a tourist attraction and many Japanese people come here too. We walked through the park for several hours. There are benches and small tea houses/shops everywhere, so you can take breaks easily. The facility is great, also because there is so much water. Afterwards, we went to the old tea district, actually with the aim of buying tea there. There were many small shops there, but they sold everything except tea. It was still nice and on the way back, we at least had a tea-flavored ice cream, and it even had gold leaf on it. We passed many statues and small temples/shrines on the way and then went to our hotel - you have to say that it was the most beautiful one so far, with many art objects, the best breakfast, a large room, and a wellness scent that was in the air everywhere and automatically relaxed you. And because breakfast tasted so good, we decided to have shabu shabu for dinner in the hotel restaurant. The waitress had a lot of fun with us because we were probably quite clumsy. After cooking and eating everything - meat, vegetables, mushrooms, rice cakes - in the broth, it would have been customary to eat noodles. But we really couldn't eat anymore. The waitress found it very funny and still brought us ice cream and tea. Well, ice cream is always a good choice!
