Distance 96 kilometers, cumulative 1,605 kilometers | Elevation 700, cumulative 11,180

I actually always ride along the coast, but I still climb several hundred meters every day. I often have to leave the sea and ride a little inland. Even if it's not far, it's always hilly and that's how the many meters of altitude add up. According to Komoot, I'll have to climb over 35 km by the end of the trip. I couldn't imagine that at first, but now I'm convinced that it will be right. I've already climbed almost 12,000 meters.

Today's tour seemed very long to me, even though it is almost 10 km shorter than yesterday's. I don't really know why that is. Today, too, I had every path and road you can imagine. From single trails to gravel paths and main roads. There was even a spot that reminded me of my wanderings into the wilderness. But even today, the ground was never so thick that the earth stuck to the tires.

The highlights of the tour are always the views of the sea. Although I didn't feel much wind today, I found the waves bigger than usual. Shortly before my destination, I even saw a surf school that had some students in training.

The Algarve is also known for its reddish rock formations, which are subject to severe erosion. This is probably why the water is rather dirty, but this could also be due to the strong waves, especially today. And of course you need waves to surf.

Today I came across three animals that I would like to mention. First, some flamingos, which need the shallow salty water to find their food. Very close to them was a large group of cats, many of which seemed very young. They were fed there and probably meet up every day. Further on, I saw a flock of sheep with a shepherd and a sheepdog. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo of this because it was not the right time to stop.

I made a particularly lucky choice today when searching for a hotel through Booking.com. The hotel is located a little outside of Portimão, but right by the sea, which I can see from my balcony. I also got a wonderful room, almost a junior suite, and at a very reasonable price. (Incidentally, 10€ cheaper than through Booking.com.) So today I am writing this report from the room, because I am really enjoying it.

In reality, I always travel by coast, but there are still several hundred meters of descent every day. Sometimes when I want to swim out to sea and take a little walk inside. Even if there are no mountains, it is always mountainous and this is what sums up the meters of altitude. According to Komoot, the end of the trip seemed to climb more than 35 km. In principle we cannot imagine, but now it is agreed that it will be true. I have about 12,000 meters.

Today's race seemed very long to me, even though it is about 10km shorter than yesterday. In reality, I don't understand why it is like that. Today everything that can be imagined as a road and a path. So, from the single trail thru grave roads to the main road. Including a point that recorded my steps through the desert. But even today the floor is already covered in snow while the ground is being repaired.

The most outstanding part of the route are always the views over the sea. Even today I didn't feel much wind, I realized that the waves are bigger than usual, a little before my destination included a surfing school where I had some students learning.

The Algarve is also known for the formation of rocky red rocks that are subject to severe erosion. For that reason, the water can easily become dirty, but it can also become very oily, especially today. And, presumably, what is needed to be able to surf.

Today I met animals three times that I liked to eat. First, some flamenco dancers need slightly deep water and salads to find food. Very close I have a large group of cats, many of which seem very young. Everyone receives food and probably meets everyone all day. More impressively we see a herd of sheep with a pastor and a pastoral dog. Lamentably, I can't take a photo because it wasn't a good time to stop.

(For sure, 10€ cheaper than through Booking.com) For this reason today I am writing this review from the room because I am enjoying it a lot.
