Day 3 - arrived

प्रकाशित: 25.07.2017

So the flight journey is well digested and we went to bed around 2 o'clock. But the boys still had to get up at 9 o'clock and their enthusiasm was limited. After a busy day despite the late hour yesterday, things are already buzzing in the morning. We are in the Shibuya district, which turns out to be the nightlife area. The central point is a crossing where the zebra crossing runs diagonally across the street. When pedestrians have green there, it gets really busy.

And here they drive on the left - something to remember for the Million Show.

After breakfast with croissants and other small pastries, we step outside and get a real slap. Outside temperature 31° and high humidity. The fact that this, combined with the short sleep, is not really motivating is clear

- nevertheless we walk to the nearby Yoyogi Park and the Meji Shrine. On the way, we pass the Olympic Stadium from 1964.

The shrine is one of the most important but is currently being renovated because of the Olympic Games 2020. Nevertheless, both the procedure and the building are impressive.

Before entering the shrine, you have to clean your hands and mouth. On the way there, we also pass two racks, one with sake barrels and one with red wine barrels.

After the shrine, we want to get the 'Japan Railway' - Pass, but it fails because we have 'only' copies of our passports and not the originals.

The boys really want to go to the hotel and take a nap, so we give in.

At 7 o'clock we meet for dinner, which we reserved yesterday. Since we are too early, we take a look at some skyscrapers to admire the view.

The dinner was a Gyu-Kaku menu and an absolute hit with the boys. It is a kind of raclette where you grill the meat directly over the charcoal. We tried a variety of things - including heart. It was really sensational.

In general, it must be said that the food here is sensational. You don't know what you want. The lunch was original, where we first ordered and paid at the vending machine and then got the food. Sounds like McDonald's but it was really good. It was somewhat confusing that colleague Köberl got a raw egg. We then realized that he should have poured it over the meat and rice. The soup was also original, for which there were only chopsticks.

Usually you can easily see what there is to eat because the dishes are displayed as plastic copies.

As a conclusion, we took a look at the anime district - but that was a flop. Instead, things were going on in our district that you could only watch.

On Tuesday we will go to the Skytree and then we will see what else there is.
