21st day of travel

Today, the journey from Flåm will take us to Bergen. We will once again pass through beautiful mountain landscapes. Near Gudvangen, we will see the Tvinnofossen waterfall, which rushes down in several steps. Tvinno means double and the waterfall is named after that because it consists of two streams. The number of tourist buses is slowly increasing, making it more and more difficult to take a nice photo. 😉 We continue on the E16 towards Voss and then to Bergen. This stretch is filled with one tunnel after another. In between, maybe a short glimpse or one of the endless roundabouts. We reach Bergen and want to visit the historic Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen. Bergen has a lot to offer, but very few parking spaces for camper vans. After some searching, we find a spot at the Hurtigruten Terminal. However, it is on the other side of the harbor and we have to find our way there. After about 30 minutes, we are at the fish market Torget and can already see the houses of the medieval district. The Hanseatic merchants lived here from 1350 to 1764. Bryggen was included in the UNESCO list of preserved World Heritage Sites in 1979. Beautiful wooden houses line up next to each other and have many charming courtyards. Then back to the camper van and off to find a place to sleep. Tomorrow, we will continue further inland.
