Since we got bored of just going on a beach vacation, we decided to drive down to Nelson Bay in the south. This place is famous for its great seafood. On the way, we stopped by Seal Rocks, which we heard looks amazing. The trip was definitely worth it, the view was fantastic and we had some sandwiches for lunch.
We spent the afternoon relaxing at the beach, but swimming was not possible due to the increased shark presence. There was a designated swimming area with nets, but it was quite crowded.
In the evening, we got dressed up and went to the city center which was 4km away. We planned to have lobster for dinner, but couldn't find any. We checked out some restaurants, and one great thing here is that they immediately inform you if they cannot prepare gluten-free meals. We found a restaurant that served delicious steak with shrimp, mashed potatoes, and salad, it was really tasty. Going gluten-free is not a problem here in Australia, the menu was clearly marked and the nice lady in the kitchen answered all our questions. We will definitely miss this convenience.
The next morning, we planned to hike to a viewpoint in the national park, but the weather was very bad. So instead, we decided to drive to Anna Bay and explore the endless sand dunes.
Not sure what to do with the cool, windy, and sometimes rainy weather, we drove over 300km back south.
