Today I was back at the Hort from noon. The children were very calm today and mainly played with Lego, board games or did some drawing. So I didn't have much to do. The Hort closed a bit earlier today. It's much easier organized here than with us. Alistair doesn't have to ask anyone or inform the parents if he wants to close earlier, he just does it. Even when he was sick last week, the Hort simply remained closed. The first children notice at the door that it is closed and then run through the whole village and tell the other children. The bush telegraph is still in full swing here ;-).

So I wrote to Paul if he can pick me up earlier, as the Hort already closes at 15.45. But he didn't receive my message. That's why I wrote Steph, but I didn't reach her either. When he finally came at 16.15, I also found out why my messages didn't arrive...
Today, for the first time in my time in Africa, there was so-called "Loadshedding". During this Loadshedding, the power is switched off throughout the country at different times, 2-3 times a day for about 2.5 hours. Also, the mobile phone reception is worse during this time. This measure was taken because the President of South Africa sells electricity from the country to neighboring countries. Since he has sold too much electricity, they now have too little in South Africa.
