Day 21 - September 24th, 2023 Ibero Winery and Sighnaghi

The Ibero winery is a pearl in Georgia, everything your heart desires. Beate slept in and forgot about the stress of getting there (two night flights). A slightly different holiday begins. Now let's take it a little easier. After breakfast we settle in and have a wine tasting at 11am. All pleasant wines, we particularly liked the port wine. Since we didn't want to leave after about 10 types of wine, we decided to stay another night at the winery. After a short nap we visit the picturesque town of Sighnaghi. The place was built in the 18th century and has a well-preserved city wall that is more than 5 km long. Located on a hill, it has a special appeal, especially for wedding couples who can get married here 24/7. We stroll through the town and treat ourselves to grilled lamb. We can welcome new guests back to the winery. Two families from Russia, three Belgians and a couple from Switzerland. They have a wine tasting in the evening and we are spontaneously invited to it. The cozy evening ends at midnight with Beate and I singing the Steigerlied as a German cultural contribution after the performances of the other nations. 6657 km
