Highlight of the day: Wonderful landscapes in the company of André.
Since we stayed in a hotel, we also had breakfast. We woke up early enough to have enough time for it. At 7 o'clock we were the first guests, but it is not yet peak season. That is generally an advantage of hiking in this season. It is much easier to find accommodation and there is no crowding along the way. Most hikers probably also fear the cool and uncertain weather. I would choose the months of March and April again immediately.
Today we had just under 20 km ahead of us in flat terrain. That should not be a problem for us. The average distance of all my stages is much higher.
It could be that some sections of the trail could be slippery or swampy, because not much time has passed since the last rainy days. But the reality looked much better. There were certainly places where we had to detour, but there was never any blocking, so we didn't have to turn back.
Today we also hiked through diverse landscapes and saw Lake Neuchâtel from different perspectives. Once the trail even led us up and we had a wide view over the lake to the Jura mountains. The most impressive was the still snow-covered Chasseral.
After the descent, we had our well-deserved lunch break in a sheltered bus stop. After that, we had 2 options: Either we followed the signposts that wanted to send us up again or we trusted Komoot, which offered us a path directly along the water.
We hoped for Komoot and found a beautiful path directly along the lake and over well-built footbridges.
Later we found a nearby waterfall where you could even stand behind the falling water. In between, just for fun, we also took some video and timelapse shots.
So time passed quickly and varied, we had not only Cudrefin in mind as our goal.
But we also reached it in a decent time, so there was still enough time to see the place and do some shopping.
The whole tour on Komoot:
