Next stop is Montreal. Here everything is generally in French. You can also occasionally find signs that are only in French and not in English as well. At least everyone here speaks English though.
The hostel is a relatively old house, which apparently once belonged to someone rich, as can be seen from the staircase:
The city itself is also as diverse as Toronto. There are neighborhoods everywhere where like-minded people have gathered. So it can happen that you turn a corner and feel like you're in a different city.
A particularly cool place is Mont Royal, which gives the city its name. From there you have a really good view over the city.
There are also hidden graffiti all over the city, showing that graffiti can also be beautiful.
Just like in Toronto, there is always something going on here, live music, markets, festivals, etc. You can always find something somewhere. Currently, some buildings are even used as a canvas for projections about the history of Montreal at night.
And of course, what cannot be missing on a trip to Montreal is Poutine: fries with gravy and cheese curds
