24.02.2023 from Cowell to Fishermans Point CP in Lincoln NP
During the night, it was fairly warm, and there was a strong wind. In the early morning, before the neighbor can turn on the generator again, we are up and about. Today, there is no tea as the wind is blowing strongly towards the gas stove. We have breakfast in the car and soon set off. In town, there is a showroom for black and green jade jewelry. We look around and find some beautiful pieces. Today, we continue towards Port Lincoln, an important port city on the Eyre Peninsula. But at the best time for lunch, another place on the route tempts us. Tumby Bay offers a beach, shopping, food, and a restroom. Who can say no to that? We are delighted, just like all the other small towns along the coast. We see a well-maintained place with a children's play and picnic area, boat ramp, campground, supermarket, and gas station. There is also free WIFI on the promenade. We go swimming, the water is wonderfully clear and warm, and we get fish and chips from the takeaway. We are completely satisfied and continue on to Port Lincoln and the national park of the same name. Our camping site for today has 19 pitches and 2 dry toilets. Water and electricity are not available, but the experienced camper knows that. We walk to the beach, which is only a few meters away from our pitch, and watch a father teach his two boys how to fish. Eventually, he goes into the water to free the fishing hook from an obstacle, and we cook ourselves a nice dinner. As evening approaches, the weather has changed as predicted. The temperatures have dropped from nearly 40 degrees to around 20 degrees. We don't mind, we simply put on our fleece jackets again and later cuddle up in the warm blanket.
