23/03/2023 from Dorrigo to Yuraygir NP, Red Cliff Camping Site

In the early morning, we see that another visit to the rainforest visitor center may be worthwhile, the thick clouds have cleared and we actually see a hilly mountain landscape. We drive down the Great Dividing Range again and do some shopping in one of the larger coastal towns, there will be nothing to buy in the NP. We are already early in the NP, here on the coast the NP have about 1000 camping sites, today one in close proximity to the beach. Unthinkable in Germany.

We go for a swim, but it's not a pleasure, the surf is strong and it knocks our legs away if we're not careful.

We stroll along the beach and the red cliffs, exciting geological formations. Information boards tell of the extraction of rare earths in earlier times.

We take it easy with campfire and a view of the starry sky.
