We made our way to the capital, Budapest, through Hungarian country roads and highways. Here we spent three nights in an Airbnb apartment with a larger bed, private bathroom, and kitchen ... it was pure luxury for us and we really enjoyed being able to walk around in our pajamas after waking up, cook on multiple burners at the same time, have a dishwasher, shower, washing machine, and running water, not having to immediately tidy everything up (because things can get chaotic quickly in a car), and just relax a little. Because believe it or not, sightseeing and being constantly on the go, constantly researching what there is to see and where to stay each night, can be quite exhausting... (I am aware that this is complaining at the highest level!). Anyway, we quickly fell in love with our accommodation. Otherwise, we explored the entire city on foot: visited the magnificent Parliament, which was right next to our accommodation, took a walk along the Danube, visited the Royal District with Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion, the Jewish Quarter, walked to the old thermal bath and other churches, bridges, shopping arcades, sat in the sun and in cafes observing tourists, and so on. The photos will be able to convey more impressions than can be reported here briefly. Even though, as the next report will show, we were (unfortunately) in Budapest twice, we can only advise everyone to take their time for this "pearl of Eastern Europe". It's worth it ;)
