Hello dear ones,
After being home for half a year now, thanks to #Corona restrictions, I finally find the time to include our West Coast Trip here as well.
Data-wise, it doesn't look so good in my head anymore... and the memories of all our experiences are starting to fade (shockingly).
However, I fear that it will only get worse over the years, so I'm trying to gradually write down everything that my little head can still reproduce.
So, about Eighty Mile Beach. I remember that we only spent one day there because there wasn't much to see and do. It's just an extremely long beach where you can drive with your car. We took full advantage of that, as the beach is indeed quite long and there was nothing going on, we drove really fast! Timo had a lot of fun driving and even did a few drifts. But I have to say that it's definitely a good thrill to press the gas pedal all the way down on a beach. We laughed a lot, and when the driver made a spontaneous sharp turn, you would also get that lovely fluttery feeling in your stomach that inevitably brings that deep sense of happiness that I miss since we've been back home.
So it was really fun and it was super cool to see the turquoise blue water rushing past the window, but my highlight were the many dolphins that swam very close to the beach. A group of probably 10 or more animals peeking out of the water and playing around. There is also a video, but unfortunately I can't upload it here.
Nothing else particularly exciting, we continued directly to Port Headland, a rather ugly industrial city, where we spent one night at a free campsite outside, after stocking up on enough supplies for the upcoming national park. Because Karijini, here we come, and we had high expectations.
See u soon my loves, Sending kisses
