24.7.19 8:15 a.m. Departure from Bergen to Jasmund National Park

Mileage: 6740

Outside temperature: 22°C, sunny

At 8:15 a.m. we started with the motorhome to Jasmund National Park, where the chalk cliffs are located. At 10:30 a.m., we set off with the stroller and it was already quite warm. Luckily, most of the 3 km long path led through the beautiful beech forest, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Once we arrived at the national park, we had our packed sandwiches, apple, and sausages for lunch. After that, we went on a guided tour to Königsstuhl, which gets its name from the legend that the person who first climbed the cliff was crowned king. The view of the Baltic Sea from Königsstuhl was also very beautiful. Afterwards, we visited the Rügen exhibition and watched a short film about beech forests. Finn happily crawled through the rooms and kept himself busy. Marley had taken a seat at the dog bar in the shade. After Mom and Dad had gained enough new knowledge about the beautiful island, we went to a nearby viewpoint. From the so-called "Viktoriasicht" (named after the English queen), we had a great view of Königsstuhl. Now, the three of us kings had seen enough of Königsstuhl and we made our way back in the afternoon.

By now, the temperatures had risen well above 25°C, so we had only one goal: the sea. In Glowe, we found a beautiful sandy beach and soon hopped into the waves. Dad received a builder's badge, as he was able to easily set up the beach tent on the first try. After we had enough cooling off, we had a round of doner kebab for dinner (Finn got a vegetarian one) and then headed back to the motorhome and back to the campsite in Bergen.

After a long and exhausting day, the three of us fell into a peaceful sleep.
