Idanha-a-Nova

After so much sightseeing, we need a little rest. Our destination is a small campsite in Ortiga, idyllically situated by a reservoir. Unfortunately, it is closed.

Flowering meadows everywhere along the way!

We drive further east and end up at the Barragem Maréchal Carmona campsite. As described in the motorhome guide, it is in the middle of nowhere, pretty run down, but has a washing machine and dryer so we can clean our laundry. However, the numerous rat traps do make you think a little 🙈🙈🤔.

The sound of cowbells like on the mountain pastures accompanies our day. However, we cannot see the cows.

After a short walk to the nearby lake, we have dinner at home, because the restaurant is of course closed…

Unfortunately, in view of a mosquito invasion (idyllic lake!), we have to flee into our car…
