So, today I slept great. Time to deal with the repair of the car after a delicious coffee.
A parts store was quickly found. There I bought two diesel filters in stock, you never know what else comes out of the tank. And if I don't need them for this vehicle anymore, I can still take them home where a T3 is waiting for me. It was interesting that the MANN filter was apparently purchased with great foresight 25 years ago. At least the layer of dust suggests that. But this once again confirms that everything will be used at some point and should not be discarded prematurely.
The lighting was quickly repaired. Beating helped with the blinker and the parking light, the license plate light was 'angry in black'. The good NARVA 6V bulb simply broke. Just 30 years after production was discontinued, it breaks due to a little overvoltage. Nothing lasts anymore...
Dmitri, the friendly dealer, also gave me a tip for a workshop called 'Dimopoulus CAR Service', which might be able to help me with the dirty tank...
Upon arrival there and after a brief description, I was allowed to take a seat behind the workshop in a shady corner and pump out the tank with the borrowed Lidl pump and a funnel. I filtered the diesel through a cloth bag and poured it back into the tank. I let it run for about 20 minutes and when I felt that no more dirt was coming, I put everything back together. I already thought about buying the same pump at Lidl, now I will probably do it sometime after this good test result.
So, maybe the problem is fixed now. What an action, yuck. Smelling of diesel and covered in dust, I bought myself swimming trunks, went to take a shower, and then into the sea...
So, the car is essentially ready for travel again, we'll see.
First, take a little rest and enjoy good Greek food...
On the way back from the restaurant, two guys invited me to a beach bar. One of them said that he lives in Hanover and hopes to join the German Railway or VW. Otherwise, he will open a Greek restaurant. After an Ouzo and a gin, I thought it was appropriate to leave... Nice guys, but two hours after midnight, too exhausting... Especially since I actually want to continue traveling in a few hours...
