Westcoast and Pancake Rocks

In Hokitika, we met blues singer Ric Kean at the pub on the campsite. During the conversation, he told us that he rents out mountain bikes and if we would like to go for a ride the next day. We agreed and rented four bikes from him the next day. He took us to Cowboys Paradise. From there, we rode back to Kaniere. It was a beautiful tour, 35km long, from a place called Cowboys Paradise down a winding gravel road into the valley. Then across a gravel road to Lake Kaniere. From there, a single trail along an old water channel from the gold rush era downhill towards the road. After that, we continued on the road towards Kaniere and back to the pub where we met Ric. After that, we went to Hokitika Gorge and enjoyed the wonderfully blue water in the small gorge. We stayed overnight at Arthurs Pass as there are some free campsites there. At night, we had a clear starry sky and meteor shower, unfortunately, my camera was not able to capture it, so I cannot post any pictures. But I can assure you, it was beautiful. The next day, we drove towards Nelson via the Pancake Rocks.
