Iguazú Falls

The visit to the Iguazú Falls is absolutely amazing! The waterfalls are one of the 7 natural wonders of the world, and rightfully so. We are in awe! In the northeastern corner of Argentina, the falls, which stretch over a width of 2700 meters, can be admired from both sides of the border with Brazil. First, we head to the Brazilian side, where the infrastructure is really good: the public bus goes directly across the border to the national park there. On-site, well-established paths lead down the slope. There are diverse, breathtaking views of the many waterfalls. There are already some tourists around, and occasionally, short lines form at the best spots for selfies. Coatis occasionally emerge from the bushes in search of food. We also encounter a tarantula.

As a finale, a bridge leads over the water to the so-called Devil's Throat, a U-shaped gorge into which an incredible amount of water cascades. We, like many others, put on our ponchos. The spray envelops us in a fine, wet shower.

On the way back, we also take a boat tour. There are two options for that: damp or completely soaked - we choose the second boat, but not without putting on our swimwear first 😊 And really, in just a second we are completely drenched…

On the second day, we stay on the Argentine side and visit the national park there. The area is much larger than on the Brazilian side. There are several extensive paths that lead through the jungle very close to the many waterfalls. A little train also takes you to the Devil's Throat.

On the way, we even spot a toucan in a treetop! 🥰

Both sides were amazing, and it was a unique, unforgettable trip!

Next, we want to explore the northwest of Argentina around Salta. Then it's off towards Bolivia…
