We now took a crazy bus driver to Tauranga from Thames. Stand-up comedy would have been the more suitable profession for him. So we had a bus ride with a sightseeing tour, led with humor and charm. We asked ourselves how many times the bus driver must have told his jokes and still managed to laugh at himself with enthusiasm. Upon arriving in Tauranga, we would describe the city as follows: officially the fastest growing city with the largest port in New Zealand, unofficially "The sporty City". The national sport of jogging in New Zealand is well represented here. Apparently, almost every resident loves to jog up Mount Maunganui, which is located near the city. There, we had a truly breathtaking view of the scenic surroundings. And finally, we got to see some sheep again!!! At the foot of the mountain, a beautiful beach offered us a nice place to relax. In total, we covered 30km (Kevin + 12km jogging -> 42km) on this day. We ended the evening with dinner on the rooftop terrace of our hostel, which offered us a view of the coast, the sea right in front of us, and the port.
