Savannah, Georgia

I don't even know where to begin. So much has happened this weekend. Unfortunately, we arrived in Savannah pretty late, around 10 pm. We were allowed to stay overnight at the aunt of a German intern, who is also studying at our school and at PH Ludwigsburg. The reception was very warm, but she almost overwhelmed us with her temperament. After just a few minutes, we were her 'sweethearts and little mice'. Her house was amazing! It was in the middle of the forest and behind the house was a large pool with a terrace in front of it. She was incredibly hospitable and made us a delicious, very filling breakfast the next morning. After that, we went to the 'downtown' of Savannah. Unfortunately, Savannah doesn't have a proper center, only a River Street right by the river. It's very spacious, and almost a 30-minute walk from River Street is a park, which is another attraction of Savannah.

In front of this fountain in the park, there were a few bridal couples taking wedding pictures. It's really beautiful there.

The weather was amazing, even though it was already the end of September. The sun was shining, it was about 30 degrees Celsius, but it was very humid and the humidity in Savannah is extremely high.
In the afternoon, a jazz festival took place in the park. But it was okay, and our group, consisting of 7 Germans, preferred to have a BBQ evening with the aunt on the terrace by the pool. And so we ended the evening nicely.
Here are a few pictures of the pool :) It was really beautiful there! There will be another blog post about the beach near Savannah, called 'Tybee Beach'.
Fortunately, there was a fly screen everywhere. The homeowner told us that there are alligators in the lake near her father-in-law, who lives around the corner. Oh, and a bear has also been spotted around the corner. The forest is said to look a lot like the one in the TV series 'The Walking Dead', which is also filmed in Georgia.
