4.12.2017 Singapore Day 2

प्रकाशित: 05.12.2017

Today I met Dion, a Singaporean student, at the Bayfront shopping mall, which mainly features expensive stores like Louis Vuitton and Prada. We had some food together. I had noodles with prawns, she had rice with chicken. After that, we visited the ArtScience Museum and the Garden by the Bay. The ArtScience Museum is known for its futuristic color displays. The Garden by the Bay is a park with 8 artificially created 30-meter tall walkable trees. Then we visited the Flower Dome, a large dome where it is around 15 degrees Celsius to make it possible for plants from different countries to thrive. After that, we took the train to Little India, where Dion painted a henna tattoo on my right forearm while we drank from a coconut. After some time, Richard joined us. We went to one of the main shopping streets, which was overflowing with Christmas decorations. We visited a few stores and observed the city from a skyscraper. Seeing the city from such a height reminded me of how huge Singapore really is. When it got dark, we went to a bar called Chupitos to have some shots, including a "Tequila Slammer" and "Smurfette". Then we explored deeper into the city, where we met another student, Xin. Richard wanted to know who can drink more: Germans or Singaporeans. We said goodbye around midnight, and I took a taxi home. The conclusion of the day: Germans can handle more beer, even though Richard held on for a long time. It was a great evening, and it is invaluable to meet someone who knows their way around and enjoys showing you the city.
