3/4/2017 Day 1 in Singapore

प्रकाशित: 03.12.2017

Finally, the time has come. A strange feeling sitting at the airport, knowing that no one is waiting for you to pick you up. You only have the address of your hotel and your luggage. My mother and sister were probably more excited than I was, but I am slowly realizing the adventure I am embarking on. Arriving at the airport, which is really big, everything goes smoothly. With luggage and the hotel address, I take a taxi to the hotel. After a quick settling in, I go out on the streets. My first impression: there is food offered everywhere. From my hotel, I first go to the East Coast Park, which is adjacent to the sea. Here, it is noticeable that everything is clean. The grass is well maintained and there is no garbage lying around. Many big families are having dinner in the park, which is not surprising at 30 degrees. My path leads me towards Garden by the Bay. What looks like a short walk turns out to be a 5km long distance. While walking, you notice how many people in Singapore still exercise in the evening or ride their bikes home. There are also many electric scooters on the road. Upon arrival at the destination, I take some photos and then start making my way back as hunger slowly sets in. I take the train back. They are ultra-modern and easy to understand. At the nearest station to my hotel, I leave the train, walk the rest, and find something to eat along the way. All in all, a pleasant arrival.

The heat and the time difference are a challenge for me, which is why I can't fall asleep. So what else can you do but start the travel blog at 5 o'clock local time?
