Hello Switzerland - goodbye South America

The circle is closing.. where my (Carole) journey started 6 months and 10 days ago - or exactly 193 days ago - it ended yesterday. Reto and I landed safely in Zurich. By the way, our luggage also made the journey without any delays ;)

I look back on a great time and an intense and unique experience that couldn't have been better. I enjoyed just drifting, discovering new places and meeting people from all over the world, learning a new language and exploring the exciting cultures of South America. The incredibly beautiful natural spectacles will always be in my memories.

According to Google Maps, I traveled about 12,000km by bus from my starting point in northern Peru to the southernmost city in the world - Ushuaia. For comparison: If you were to drive by car from Nordkapp to Sicily, you would cover about 5,200km. I think I won't embark on another long bus journey so soon ;)

I was incredibly happy to come home again and the warm welcome at the airport and at home made it easy for me to arrive. Now I am looking forward to the new professional challenge and to biking, climbing, jogging, and enjoying in my homeland.

After the Swiss summer of 2016 and the South American summer of 2016/2017, now the Swiss summer of 2017 can also come :)
