Yiiiiihaaaaa

Fort Worth and Dallas are quite close to each other, so we were able to place our overnight stay at Walmart right in the middle. Today is Friday and we have set our sights on Forth Worth with the Western City Stockyard as our destination.

It was amazing. Original Western life. Several times a day, there is a cattle drive through the Main Street. It was super impressive to be so close. For lunch, we treated ourselves to all you can eat ribs. I cheated a little and went for the good old pig. The portion was also not a problem.

In between, there was live music in some kind of annex, also very nice. And in the evening, there was the next highlight. We went to the Coliseum for the Championship RODEO!!! Wow, all my expectations were surpassed. Cowboys who don't just put on a show, but have chosen this life. There was bullriding, calves were caught and immobilized with a lasso. Then the girls did Western riding, especially impressive was the interaction between the cowboy, the girl, and the horse. In between, there was a lasso show and all the children were called to come into the arena. Then a not so small calf was called into the ring and all the children chased after it. A small flag was attached to its back and the winner was the one who caught it first. A highly amusing spectacle.

We were sitting in a wheelchair box very close to the boxes from which the immense strength of the wild bulls could be felt. The process of the riders getting on the bulls was already intense. Again, wow...

2 hours of pure entertainment and we were all blown away. We could stay overnight on the Stockyard premises, $15 was also affordable this time.

Tomorrow, on Saturday, we will head to the capital of Texas, Austin!!!
