This week there were groundbreaking experiences that will significantly influence our everyday life for the next few months.
After spending several hours intensely searching for jobs, as mentioned in the last post, the first requests for job interviews came in. Of course, appointments were immediately made and so everyone had one or more job interviews in the following days. And what can we say.... Everyone now has a full-time job and can improve the travel fund, so that we could even buy groceries at Walmart again, which we had to do without before. So now we treat ourselves to mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, eggs, orange juice, and for breakfast it's not just toast with cream cheese, banana and cinnamon anymore... no... now we also have toast with cheap Nutella. Nevertheless, we naturally continue to watch our household budget, otherwise our motto would not be 'save until the absolute breaking point'.
Oh, and there was also a move. From Esquimalt we moved to the beautiful harbor city of Victoria, which is also the capital of British Columbia. Here we found the cheapest Airbnb that met our requirements with an unbeatable location in the city center, more precisely in Chinatown, where we live less than 10 minutes away from the water. Could be worse. Because we work during the week, our activities are limited to the common days off - mostly the weekends. But first, we explored Victoria with its many small alleys and hidden shops, such as a vintage store. We were also drawn to a larger second-hand store, which made Doro's eyes sparkle, especially in the vintage technology/dishes and household appliances department.
Well... Now we just have to settle in and get used to the new everyday life.
