Actually, I wanted to write a little about the Aborigines today, but I'm already too tired. I'll catch up on that in the next few days. Today was quite exhausting. It's hot and humid here.
The hotel yesterday was a 4-star wellness and spa hotel. The only good thing was the bed, which was nice and soft, but the rest was rundown. Well, it was only for one night.
I have to say I'm a little scared for the next 14 days. Firstly, the route is not planned yet, then the crocodiles make me uncomfortable and the creatures that are supposed to be on the tour. I'm just repressing that now. Now we have to take over our new home. A 7-meter long Mercedes Sprinter. And I have to say, the hotel room was great compared to that. Apart from a few dents on the outside, the van is worn out on the inside (which is not too bad and was expected) but really dirty. We wandered around the car for 2 and a half hours and complained and documented everything.
We spent another 2 hours at Woolworth's afterwards and bought everything for the basic cleaning of the camper as well as groceries.
And another 1 and a half hours of cleaning later, we could finally feel a little at home.
But there is not only bad things about the car. After Carsten wiped the windshield for a week when signaling (you remember), the turn signal lever is now back on the correct side. 👍
And so that you don't die stupid 🧐 or if you also travel here: in cars that are built in Europe for driving on the left, the turn signal is on the left side, like in vehicles for driving on the right. Vehicles that are produced abroad can orient themselves more towards the "domestic market" conditions. Then the turn signal is on the left, like in the car brand Holden.
What's confusing here is the lack of consistency, in the supermarket the entrance is on the right, the cash registers on the left, and even the bottles are screwed on to the right. 🤨
We didn't feel like long drives with the huge vehicle anymore and drove to the next campsite - nice is something else. Today seems to be the day of rundown things. Sometimes you have bad luck and sometimes others have good luck.
Let's see how the night goes and whether we will buy one or two air mattresses tomorrow, because the bed is as hard as a board. And I love such beds.
